My type of snow day.

I'm going to be honest, a snow day doesn't really mean the same to me like it does to all those who work. Don't get me wrong, I get excited for everyone I know that doesn't have to trek into work and I even still look at the bottom of the TV news to see if the school I used to teach at has off. But, being a SAH mom a snow day mean crazy kids who want to go outside and lots and lots of fighting. Since Cambelle doesn't have school on Wednesdays we usually are just out running errands or catching up on house hold duties... so today was really no different. Except that my awesome cousin, Tina, had off which then allowed her to go to Ikea for our items that were out of stock last week... and she even dropped them off and Jeff is finishing up the dress-up wardrobe as we speak. Thanks, T. And, Jeff did work from home and then take the girls out to play in the snow for an hour. Holla to getting off work early!

I did wake up knowing I wasn't going to go anywhere so I did a couple of things around the house while the girls played and while Kenna took her morning nap (10-12:30) longest nap EVER!

First, I called up my mom to see if she was bored watching my dad install hardwood flooring in their family room... lucky me - she was. So, I asked her to come over and help me reupholstering our four bar stools. 

It was a pretty easy job but it took both of us and some muscles with the nail gun.

Then, I made a new sitting area in a corner in our family room. My mom found this "new" lamp in the trash at work... one of the other offices were throwing away their lamps for new lamps. I don't even think it was ever used... it looks brand spankin' new. Since my mom couldn't find a place in her house for it she gave it to me and now it has a new home. 

She went to Pottery Barn for the lamp shade and I'm in love with it. 

Then, I added a new picture, because why not? Can't have enough....

And, lastly I picked out paint for our bedroom that's getting painted next weekend and some new Uppercase Living... which is having a sale right now. Buy 2 get one free. Hop over to my SIL's website and order some... 

So, I guess I really do like snow days because I get some random stuff done ;)
